Are you sick and tired of the poor, overly compressed sound with no headroom in all the commercial radio broadcast stations available?
This problem is now solved, because all the music playing on YourRadio HD is not processed at all.
Our music catalog (mainly Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab, Audio Fidelity, Direct Compact Classics, Analogue Productions, Sundazed Music, Sony MasterSound, JVC K2 HDCD’s, XRCD2’s and last not least the Japanese SHM-CD presses - wich mainly use modern remastering techniques, some of them quite good although the dynamic range isn’t a winner here) has been carefully selected before the broadcast; more on that below for the rag chewers.
This is YourRadio HD, in HD sound. No dynamic range compression, no effects. Just pure, natural music tones ♬
The above images are self-explanatory. We also use a vast selection of limited audiophile and some 1st generation near mint vinyl presses (mainly 180/200gr for obvious reasons) LP’s and CD’s and in some peculiar cases, good old analog compact cassettes (IEC Type IV - or Metal).
Together our team has been listening to music (one song at a time in some cases), studying and collecting literally hundreds of musical details on every track - melody, harmony, instrumentation, rhythm, vocals, lyrics ... and more! We continue this work every day to keep up with the incredible flow of great new music coming from studios, stadiums and garages around the country in the best quality possible.
We carefully acquire “by hand” via digital channels (except the LP’s) our music catalog mainly because the mastering techniques used nowadays are brickwalled beyond any tolerable limit.
When was the last time you fell in love with a new artist or song?
At YourRadio HD, we have a single mission: To play only music you'll love in best quality possible.
OK, we've added comedy as well so we're also up for playing some jokes you'll love.
About the HD part; in our vision, the HD stands for “quality”; a stripped to the bone, optimized
online stream. Think of us as the epitome of tape. By tape we mean reel to reel (e.g. Studer, Tascam, Akai, Teac, DBX). We all
love that good ol’ sound of analog. We think the popular HQ (high quality) term doesn’t quite well fit in here, hence this is a streaming service - unless we stream the musical program in 32bit - DSD or PCM, which is hypothetical because there are no currently any audio players we know of who support that function.
♮ For you out there who’s probably wondering, no. We don't use a compressor/limiter at the end of the chain. We had some beta tests last year and we didn't like the results.
WHAT DO WE PLAY?
